1. Your recent release “Ignite” is being released this month (1/19), what do you want listeners to take away from it? What was the recording process like for the record?

Excluding a terrible headache? :) Every song is a step forward in the path. Numbers is the start, a song about friendship which to us is the real meaning of life. M&S is about religious people from the past to the present. Foundations is about where to base the new mind. Libertas is the step in which we want people to throw away shit from their lives and Farewell To Myself is the real ignition of the new life, the time when one looks in the mirror and says I've come better today. That is where the title IGNITE come from.
So what we really want people to take is: no matter who you are, no matter what you do but really if there is shit in your life find the courage throw it out of the window and take care only of what it worth it.

2. How would you describe your music to the average listener?

...ATOMIC EXPLOSIONS SOUNDS RIDICULOUS.

3. What can people expect from your live show?

You can expect us to give everything we have. NOTHING EXCLUDED. But every show is a different show and every time something new happens so one can only come and see how it evolves the night. Obviously hoping to come back home when it finishes...

4. Any crazy show stories?

In 2011 in Bologna, I played with my new (bought the same day) radio jack, after the initial intro I got crazy and jumped down the stage on the public and started playing and pushing everyone, the radio jack died in a few seconds and during the next 15 minutes got also broken: the bass head, a crash, a microphone, a smoke machine, a strobe light and a jack. It was really a Crazy (with the capital c) show, the venue was full and all the public was enthusiastic ...I'll always remember it, it was the first time we headlined a gig...!

5. What’s your favorite track to play live? Favorite crowd track?

For both, "Farewell To Myself"!!!

6. What’s your stance on illegal/legal music downloading?

We are musicians. Illegal downloading hurt us. But I do not blame who downloads music if then he come to shows and supports the bands also buying merch or only publicizing the band with friends. Download is ok if people supports...

7. What’s the music scene like there in Italy both locally and nationwide?

There would be a book to write on...metalcore scene we knew in Italy basically sucks. Bands in Italy? Some of the best underground musicians I've ever heard. About the nationwide, in the North there are more venues and opportunities, in the South there is more passion...wherever you go if you don't adapt to a DIY mentality you simply stop going but I think this is a good gym for the bigger music business.

8. What’s your take on the overall state of metalcore?

I think it is on the right way to make what R&R has done in the 900'. I think metalcore is strong enough, I only am scared people who make it for money (and there are a lot) will have the bigger fan base and steal the scene to those who puts in music passion and sweat.

9. What are you currently listening to?

Something new and something that has made the story: Architects and Sepultura.

10. What’s next for Ex Cinere Resurgo?

We want to support Ignite around Italy and Europe and we want it to be heard. Also we are looking for a label to sign to.

11. Any shoutouts?

We thanks people who really sweat blood to carry on the Italian scene and in particular bands we played with such as Terminal Sick and Desire Before Death. Also we want to thanks our endorser Explore Apparel and YOU From The Depths Entertainment. People who worked with us on IGNITE: Dysfunction Productions ( Eddy Cavazza, Dualized) and Enrico Xeddy Ornielli our sound technician. We would also like to give special thanks to You because you're reading and so supporting us.

1. Your new single “Nevermore” was recently released. What has the response been thus far? Any word on more music coming soon?

We have had an overall positive response for our new sound and single. We currently have 12 songs in progress for our next album. There are at least three singles on the way in the coming months, as well as a music video.

2. You guys have been together a few years, what have you learned in your ongoing experience that you may not have knew back then?

We took a step back and created a vision together for the direction of the band. It was always about what would make the band better as a whole, rather than for the individuals alone. When we first started, there were too many ideas that were conflicting, so we had to learn how to streamline our thinking over our time together.

3. What do you want your listeners to take away from your music? We want our listeners to take a piece of our soul with them as they listen... to know our emotions. That it is okay to find the answers within yourself and not have to listen to what anyone else's ideas are for you. You can define yourself and build upon your own inner strength without having to seek the approval of others.

4. How would describe your live show?

A high energy performance with colorful synchronized lighting and pounding rhythms.

5. What’s your favorite track to perform live? Favorite crowd track?

Our favorite live track is "Hold Me Down". "The Charade" was the crowd favorite.

6. What’s the music scene like there in Oklahoma both locally and state wide?

Locally, the music scene is focused around Red Dirt and Hardcore, as well as, mainstream alternative and pop. A majority of touring acts are metal-based.

7. You guys have played multiple festivals and openers for artists such as Eyes Set To Kill and more. Any crazy show stories?

There was this double booking in Tulsa where the venue booked a hip-hop festival over our time slot. We had an hour to find a new venue for the benefit concert, and sent our street team out to make sure everyone knew about the venue change.

8. What your stance on the current state of alternative music?

Alternative music is one of our major influences. We try to fuse alternative sound with melodic pop. It seems that the artists are trying to re-invent the wheel, but are still going about it in the same formulaic way. We have noticed the older artists and sounds re-emerging, and that gives us the chance to interpret certain elements that our musical influences created.

9. What’s your thoughts on illegal/legal music downloading?

There has always been a form of music piracy. I recall bootleg and mix-tapes from the 90's and before. The main difference now is that it is just so much easier to pirate. Without this, some artists could never spread and reach a critical mass... on the other hand, we see it it as really harmful to artists to see their hard work being given away, their livelihood being shared.

10. What’s next for Heresy Theory?

We are finding our solid sound, as well as, developing our show and image that best expresses who we are, and that inspires us to work harder for our future success. We are currently working on our second studio release, live remixes, music videos.

11. Any shoutouts?

We would like to thank the artists that came before us, that opened our genres sound. The Birthday Massacre, Imogen Heap, Maynard James Keenan, Celldweller, Angelspit, and those who made the darker sound come to the forefront.

-Interview- Romando (1/4/13)

Romando
Genre: Rock

1. You guys have been together since 2009, what are some of your accomplishments since your inception? Who thought of the name “Romando” and does it have any meaning?

Since forming in 2009 Romando has prided itself on playing any type of venue, anywhere. One of our biggest accomplishments has been playing the First Arena in Elmira NY for the Art of Combat MMA promotion this past September. This year we also received our first international radio play on the “What's Real? 607” internet radio station. Back in January of 2010 Romando was also able to win the first round of a Battle of the Bands held in Corning NY at our very first live show ever. Romando has also played numerous benefit shows on the way to helping raise over $25,000 for various charitable causes. The name Romando came from a nickname given to our guitarist Ross when a man named Romando Ross was convicted of manslaughter in the city of Elmira (Ross is not the guy who was accused of said shooting).

2. How would you describe your music to the average listener?

Infectious Rock music you can dance to.

3. What can people expect from your live show?

Romando prides itself on making our live experience extremely energetic and crowd involved. We aim to make everyone who sees us as excited about seeing us as we are about playing for them.

4. What’s the music scene like there both locally and state wide in NY?

The music scene in the local area tends to be more Hardcore/Heavy Metal although there is a very wide range of styles and musical experiences throughout the Upstate NY area. On most any given Friday and Saturday you can find any number of bands playing out at local bars and cafes, although our local area lacks some good, music minded venues to play at.

5. What’s your favorite track to perform live? Favorite crowd track?

Our favorite track to perform is a song called “Dancefloor”. We get a very good reaction to the song “Untitled” ever since we began playing it.

6. What’s your thoughts on the current state of rock music?

Rock music seems to have withdrawn from the main music scene in the last few years. While some say that this is a bad thing we believe that many bands have evolved and that new interesting sounds in rock can be heard now that may have been hard to achieve if rock music had been subjected to the cookie cutter nature of Top 40 radio. While you may have to look a little harder to find it, good rock music is still very much alive and well.

7. How’s the upcoming EP coming along and is there a confirmed release date/title?

The upcoming as yet untitled Romando EP is aiming for a full release sometime in March-April. The official EP has been a long time coming and we can't wait to release our music to the people.

8. What’s your stance on illegal/legal music downloading?

The reality of music downloading is that if you feature your content online, someone somewhere will probably “illegally” download it. If you are good enough as a band you will create a crowd of people who will be willing to pay money for your songs as well as come to shows to see you play out. While it may effect the bottom dollar of million dollar corporations trying to sell the music, as a band if you are good enough a few people hearing and sharing your music for free should not effect you that much and may even help you spread the word faster about your band.

9. What are you currently listening to?

Lots of Led Zeppelin, Queen, Big Star, The Raspberries, Van Halen, Robert Johnson and other blues artists as well. You can never move forward until you understand where your predecessors have been.

10. What’s next for Romando?

With the release of our EP we hope to be able to tour the East Coast this year and bring our music to the masses personally. We have also been hard at work at creating a live show that goes beyond a normal rock show. 2013 and beyond holds a ton of promise for us.

11. Any shoutouts?

Our awesome supportive families, Mr. and Mrs. Soprano for putting up with our noise pollution for years, Casey Latimer,“What's Real 607?” Radio, The Redeyes, the people who come see us, The “WOO” guys, Valhalla, John Moss, Patrick Milano, Andy Weaver, John Gosney
