1. Your recent release “Ignite” is being released this month (1/19), what do you want listeners to take away from it? What was the recording process like for the record?

Excluding a terrible headache? :) Every song is a step forward in the path. Numbers is the start, a song about friendship which to us is the real meaning of life. M&S is about religious people from the past to the present. Foundations is about where to base the new mind. Libertas is the step in which we want people to throw away shit from their lives and Farewell To Myself is the real ignition of the new life, the time when one looks in the mirror and says I've come better today. That is where the title IGNITE come from.
So what we really want people to take is: no matter who you are, no matter what you do but really if there is shit in your life find the courage throw it out of the window and take care only of what it worth it.

2. How would you describe your music to the average listener?

...ATOMIC EXPLOSIONS SOUNDS RIDICULOUS.

3. What can people expect from your live show?

You can expect us to give everything we have. NOTHING EXCLUDED. But every show is a different show and every time something new happens so one can only come and see how it evolves the night. Obviously hoping to come back home when it finishes...

4. Any crazy show stories?

In 2011 in Bologna, I played with my new (bought the same day) radio jack, after the initial intro I got crazy and jumped down the stage on the public and started playing and pushing everyone, the radio jack died in a few seconds and during the next 15 minutes got also broken: the bass head, a crash, a microphone, a smoke machine, a strobe light and a jack. It was really a Crazy (with the capital c) show, the venue was full and all the public was enthusiastic ...I'll always remember it, it was the first time we headlined a gig...!

5. What’s your favorite track to play live? Favorite crowd track?

For both, "Farewell To Myself"!!!

6. What’s your stance on illegal/legal music downloading?

We are musicians. Illegal downloading hurt us. But I do not blame who downloads music if then he come to shows and supports the bands also buying merch or only publicizing the band with friends. Download is ok if people supports...

7. What’s the music scene like there in Italy both locally and nationwide?

There would be a book to write on...metalcore scene we knew in Italy basically sucks. Bands in Italy? Some of the best underground musicians I've ever heard. About the nationwide, in the North there are more venues and opportunities, in the South there is more passion...wherever you go if you don't adapt to a DIY mentality you simply stop going but I think this is a good gym for the bigger music business.

8. What’s your take on the overall state of metalcore?

I think it is on the right way to make what R&R has done in the 900'. I think metalcore is strong enough, I only am scared people who make it for money (and there are a lot) will have the bigger fan base and steal the scene to those who puts in music passion and sweat.

9. What are you currently listening to?

Something new and something that has made the story: Architects and Sepultura.

10. What’s next for Ex Cinere Resurgo?

We want to support Ignite around Italy and Europe and we want it to be heard. Also we are looking for a label to sign to.

11. Any shoutouts?

We thanks people who really sweat blood to carry on the Italian scene and in particular bands we played with such as Terminal Sick and Desire Before Death. Also we want to thanks our endorser Explore Apparel and YOU From The Depths Entertainment. People who worked with us on IGNITE: Dysfunction Productions ( Eddy Cavazza, Dualized) and Enrico Xeddy Ornielli our sound technician. We would also like to give special thanks to You because you're reading and so supporting us.
