1. You guys just released the “Patience” EP back in July. How has the response been thus far?

We were surprised at how quickly the EP caught on. The fans really seem to be enjoying it. We have sing-alongs at every show.

2. How would you describe your music to the average listener? How did the name “Apex Of Apathy” come about?

We usually describe our music as post-hardcore/experimental with pop-punk and progressive elements.

As for the name Apex of Apathy, Adam came up with it about four years ago. Ever since then the name just stuck.

3. Is there a favorite track that you like to play live? Favorite crowd track?

Our favorite song to play live has got to be “Dr. Heidegger’s Experiment.” It is one of our most dynamic songs and it allows our guitar players to show off their talent a little bit.

For a long time the favorite crowd track was “April Showers,” but right now it’s probably “Romanticism.”

4. What can people expect from your live show?

You can expect nothing but energy from our shows. We like to get rowdy. One of our primary goals is to become known as that band that puts on great live performances.

5. How is the music scene there in Las Vegas?

The music scene is not so good here. All age venues keep getting shut down and it’s getting harder and harder to get quality shows. Vegas still has many kickass bands, just no kickass venues.

6. What are you currently listening to?

We recently played a show with a really cool band called From Indian Lakes. Since then we’ve been listening to their album quite a bit.

7. What’s your take on illegal/legal music downloading?

Illegal downloading, to us, is like a double edged sword. On one hand, it allows you to listen to any band at the click of a button without having to spend your money, which in this economy is very helpful. I know most of us wouldn’t have found the bands we love if it weren’t for illegal downloading. Conversely, it does hurt the artists. Bands can’t make money off of their cds anymore and are forced to adapt or die to this new situation. I know people say that you should do music for the love of it, but musicians have bills just like everyone else.

8. Who are some of your influences?

Well, that’s complicated. Every member of the band has very different influences. Alex’s favorite bands are early Against Me! and Bright Eyes. Adam mainly listens to bands like Coheed and Cambria, Tides of Man, and Every Time I Die. Morgan is an uncompromising metalhead. And Clayton is really into Silverstein and Rise Against.

9. What do you want listeners to take away from your music?

We want listeners to hear the story we’re telling and relate it to their own lives.

10. What’s next for Apex Of Apathy?

Right now we are still promoting our EP “Patience”. We are also currently in the process of writing our first full length album and are looking for it to drop in 2013. After that, we are going to tour, tour, tour.

11. Any shoutouts?

We’d like to say thank you to the following:

Garbage Tree for being awesome.

Inherit the Sky for being an inspiration to us.

Steven Goldberg for being one of the most positive influences on the Las Vegas music scene.

Most importantly we want to say thank you to all of our fans and supporters. We would be nothing without all of you.

From: Austin, TX

http://www.facebook.com/pages/From-Broken-To-Blessed/246666572039570

1. How did the band come together and form? Any special meaning behind the name “From Broken To Blessed”?

Four out of the five of us were in a band together previously and we didn’t like the way things were going so we decided to break off and form this new band. The band name came from us feeling like we weren’t getting anywhere with our old band and us finally sounding how we wanted, doing what we wanted to do with this new band.

2. You guys recently had a show alongside In Defense Of The Depths and Everyone Dies In Utah, how did it go?

It went pretty good. We always love playing with our dudes in IDOD and we had their vocalist Cody do guest vocals for one of our songs. It was also pretty cool playing along with a more known band like Everyone Dies In Utah.

3. How has the response been to the new single “Found”? When can we expect the EP?

The response has been great. We weren’t sure how people would react to it but it’s been very encouraging for us to know that so many people like it. Our upcoming EP entitled “Fire Of My Hate” is set to be released in mid-August.

4. How would you describe your music to the average listener?

We don’t really have a set sound yet but we like to experiment with a wide range of different sounds. Our lyrics are very passionate and have a lot of hate in them because we’ve been through a lot in the early stages of our band.

5. What’s the music scene like there in TX both locally and state wide?

It has been getting better with the uprising of better and better local bands and everyone is very friendly and willing to help out other bands here.

6. What’s your definition of a good live show?

The crowd having as much fun as we do when we play, singing along, and just going crazy enjoying the music.

7. What are you guys currently listening to?

I, The Breather, Motionless In White, Memphis May Fire, and Miss May I.

8. What’s your take on the current state of metalcore?

The genre is increasing with popularity but becoming a little generic in some spots so we are trying to break out of the norm and give people a newer side of it to enjoy.

9. What three bands would you love to tour with?

In Defense Of The Depths, Miss May I, and Metallica

10. What’s next for From Broken To Blessed?

The release of our EP, writing some new material for a full-length album to be released next Summer/Fall, and possibly a Punk Goes Pop style cover song.

11. Any shoutouts?

To our bros In Defense Of The Depths for sure!

Track Listing:

1. Intro
2. Bringer Of The Dead
3. Awaken Me
4. Paranoid Delusions
5. Extinction Of Humanity
6. Tainted Earth (FTW)

Listen here

Be prepared to get dancing again in California! The opening track of the EP "Intro" is one big breakdown which is sure to be a good opener at a live show. Then starts "Bringer Of The Dead" which may bring to mind earlier Bring Me The Horizon or even Darkest Hour. The riffs keep the track going as it charges ahead full force to all the senses. "Awaken Me" slows things down a bit in the beginning but then it builds to a deathcore/thrash style track that is sure to get anyones head banging and singing along to its clean sung chorus. With elements such as guitar solos, clean vocals, gang chants and massive breakdowns, the track is superb. "Paranoid Delusions" is a good track as it keeps the flow of the EP moving. It has mostly breakdowns and is sure to get the crowd moving with its driving riffs and its awesome vocals. The title track "Extinction Of Humanity" is a song that can hold up to the big boys in the scene. These guys can sure make melodic metalcore that far exceeds expectations. "Tainted Earth (FTW)" closes out the EP and it closes the EP quite well, It's fast, heavy and melodic. These 6 tracks are a great introduction to the masses about what Lies Upon The Innocent are about.

Verdict:
Lies Upon The Innocent is a young band from California that has all the potential to become a force within the metalcore scene. Their "Extinction Of Humanity" EP is well produced, fast, heavy, catchy and overall just unleashes a force upon the scene.

Standout Tracks-
"Bringer Of The Dead"
"Awaken Me"

-Interview- Nothing Is Sacred (8/4/12)

Nothing Is Sacred
Genre: Metalcore
Interviewed on: 8/4/12
From: Newcastle, Australia
Facebook Page

http://www.facebook.com/nothingissacrednc

1. How did the band come together and form? Any meaning behind the name “Nothing Is Sacred”?

Well the four of us (not including Scott) had been good mates for years before forming the band and we were actually in a band together a few years before Nothing Is Sacred. We had been playing in different bands for a while and just decided that we wanted to start up a new band together. Once the band was formed, we decided the band needed a second guitarist and that’s when we were introduced to Scott, we got him to come along to a rehearsal and we knew straight away that he was what we were looking for. The meaning behind the name ‘Nothing Is Sacred’ is basically that you can’t take anything for granted in life because nothing lasts forever and more times than not, you have to do the hard yards before you come to terms with that. Also, it sounds cool haha.

2. You guys recently played a show at the Cambridge Hotel, how did it go? How’s the bassist search going?

Yeah the Cambo show wasn’t the best turn out but we got to share the stage with some awesome bands and made some new friends so all in all it was a good night.
The bassist search is going good, we have found someone who seems really keen on filling the
position so we are excited about welcoming him into the band.

3. What do you want people to take away from the EP?

We really just want people to hear what we have to offer and get a taste of what we are about. In our opinion the most important thing that someone can take away from the EP is an interest in Nothing Is Sacred, this means more to us then anything else.

4. What’s your favorite track to play live and why?

"Ash On The Horizon" would have to be our favourite song to play live because it is our most well known song by our fans and it has the most crowd participation. It’s an easy song for the crowd to get involved in and this makes it a lot of fun for us playing it live.

5. What can people expect from your live show?

A lot of energy, a lot of mic grabs, a huge sound, and a tight performance.

6. What’s the music scene like there both locally and nationally in Australia?

The metal/hardcore scene is not that big in Newcastle, but nationally it’s pretty big. Once you travel south a couple of hours and get into Sydney, the metal/hardcore scene is quite large.

7. What do you think of the metalcore scene in general?

It’s definitely evolving, we have so many bands these days doing the metalcore thing and incorporating the electronic and/or the melodic influence into their music. Also image has become a big part of it as well and due to this, the scene has lost a fair bit of it’s originality. But in saying that, there are so many great bands out there that are of the metalcore genre.

8. If there was three bands you could tour with, who would they be?

That’s a hard question because we all have slightly different influences so the three bands are probably different for each one of us but we would have to say definitely Bleeding Through and probably Parkway Drive and Killswitch Engage.

9. How would you describe your music to the average listener?

Heavy.

10. What’s next for Nothing Is Sacred?

Well at the moment we are concentrating on finding a permanent replacement for Liam on the bass, then we are looking at going back into the studio and recording a 6 track EP to follow up from our 3 track that we recorded earlier in the year.

11. Any shoutouts?

Yeah, just want to say cheers to anyone who has taken the time to show any interest in our band, it means the world to us and we are so grateful to those who have given us their support. We also want to give a shout out to Rhys Zacher from Spinlight Studio, every promoter and booking agent that has given us the chance to play on his or her stage, every band that we have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with, and our boys in Lycanthrope!

-Interview- Glory Divine (8/3/12)

Glory Divine
Genre: Christian melodic metalcore
Interviewed on: 8/3/12
From: Milwaukee, WI
Facebook Page

1. How did the band come about and form? How did your first few shows go?

This band literally formed together alone by the Holy Spirit just leading everything to it's place at the exact time it needed to happen, It's truly amazing. The first few shows were amazing so electrifying and emotional and just all together lovely and we cannot wait to tour the world!

2. How would you describe your music to the average listener?

They'll think it different, nothing that they have ever heard or experienced before, very strong spiritual music.

3. What’s your favorite track to perform live and why?

I know it's typical but we just all love every song so much, but honestly I would say just by a tiny ounce would be "In His Light" The atmosphere just becomes so alive when we perform that song, especially when we really proclaim the good news and truly connect with the crowd before that song.

4. What’s the music scene like there in Milwaukee?

It's good, nothing too crazy going on here, we just really wish bands would put more time into their music instead of throwing the first song that sounds decent to them out there, so generic is a good word for it, but with that we're so excited to tour the world and meet/play with bands who are truly passionate with their music as we are.

5. When can people expect the upcoming EP? Do you guys have a release date in mind?

We're currently only having a 3 song EP but you can expect a change in people immediately in their heart when they listen to our music, We truly are just instruments being used for only one purpose, and are more than excited for all the world to hear. As far as release dates go in the next coming months or so.

6. With having strong Christian views, does that draw any criticism from fans?

You get your typical crowd who are always stuck in that state of mind, but the funny thing is we have already broken through some of those people and they actually would come up to us in tears just thanking us for sharing our words and music that we proclaim every show. Honestly if your enemies persecute you, then rejoice because this whole world persecuted Christ so that obviously means we're completely are and will continue to be on the right track.

7. Who are some of your musical influences?

We know people find it typical but the only influence we truly have is the Holy Spirit. As far as music goes, each member has a large variety of so many different styles and genres we listen to, but we all definitely are incredibly supportive of any and every Christian band out there sharing the Good news. We are always blasting so many different styles of music, you can go from For Today, to Lights, to some boy band in a matter of minutes!

8. What can people expect from your live show?

We can tell you that from when you came in to the show to when you leave, you will not be the same person, you will experience inner and out changes so strongly that it's impossible to ignore, every show we just welcome the Holy Spirit and have Him lead us to whatever he desires to use us for in any way shape or form, We're literally just empty vessels being filled with the Good news to share to this world.

9. What’s your take on illegal/legal music downloading?

Honestly, everybody does it or has done it before. In this ever changing music industry it's kind if a part of it. As long as the music is getting out there thats all that matters.

10. What’s next for Glory Divine?

Tours, shirts, CD's, labels, more fans, more labels, more tours, Taco Bell, new equipment, new lights, mansions, riches, favor, families, children, living the abundant life, and every other blessing that comes with it.

11. Any shoutouts?

Our Holy Father in Heaven, Our Holy Brother in Heaven, and Our Holy Friend leading us right now, Derek Moffat at 608 Studios, the vocalist brother Isaiah, all Christian bands who are sharing the Good news to this world, and of course From the Depths Entertainment! God bless you all and just thank you all for sowing into this harvest.
