Let's get straight to it...this band rocks. Apex Of Apathy is from Las Vegas, NV and brings their own style of a mixture of post hardcore, progressive/alternative rock and a dash of emocore. "Romanticism" conjures up hearing the "Between The Order And Model" EP from Funeral For A Friend and hearing the explosion of potential the band has. The track has a little bit of everything and shows off their musical abilities perfectly. "Patience" slows things down a bit before picking up with raw, passionate screaming. There's a very good guitar solo at the end of the track that closes it out nicely. "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment" can draw comparisons to older Silverstein. You can lose yourself in the track with its atmospheric riffs and get the chorus stuck in your head all day. The EP closes with "April Showers" and its catchy as hell. It's probably the most radio friendly track on the EP but that's not a bad thing. The entire EP showcases the different abilities the band has. If you're a fan of rock music in general, check this band out NOW!
Verdict:
Apex Of Apathy has all of the variables to be successful. At the time of this review, they have a new track out called "What Are Nargles", which everyone should check out. Buy, download or go to a show. You won't be disappointed.
