1. What are your names and roles in the band?

Band-
Cameron Childers plays bass and sings,
Cody Childers (me) plays lead guitar,
and Kevin Williams plays drums.

2. How did the band come about?

Band-
Once we had all gotten out of prison we decided it was time for a new start and then after getting put back in the pen, we started a band. No really, Cameron and I started playing and the decided to form the band and then we recruited Kevin a while later.

3. Where is your favorite place to play? Why?

Band-
Really, any place where the crowd is into the show and having fun. That’s the best part of any live show and the crowd's energy really helps fuel the band's energy its a circle really.

4. How is the metal scene in West Virginia?

Band-
I guess it's like the scene any small town. We have great fans, it's just hard sometimes because, so few people live around here. That’s why we have started doing more shows in bigger cities. We won't stop playing around here though.

5. How does the song writing process come about?

Band-
Usually, one of us will come up with a riff and then we all add parts and some lyrics and just keep playing it until it develops and gets tight.

6. Is any new material coming soon?

Band-
Yes, actually we are working on our new album now and we will be heading into the studio pretty soon. We are playing out some new songs at our shows that we haven't recorded yet.

7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Band-
I don't necessarily have a favorite per say but, I like to play "Why?" a lot because we just improv a huge ending that usually turns out pretty cool.

8. If you could tour with any three acts, who would they be?

Band-
Ozzy, Megadeth, and Lamb of God. That would be a pretty cool bill.

9. What are you currently listening to?

Band-
Me personally, I’ve been listening to a lot of different stuff, lately I've been listening to a lot of Creedence, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, and the Beastie Boys.

10. What's next for Into The Void?

Band-
Well, like I said earlier we have a new album coming out soon, it will have about 12 tracks and we are going to record it at Beyond Sanity Productions (www.beyondsanityproductions.com) We are going into the studio in Late December to start recording it.

11. Any shoutouts?

Band-

Thank God, our fans, and all the people that have helped us out, they know who they are.

Crash My Deville
(Redfield Records)

Interviewed on: 11/19/07
From: Belgium, Germany
www.myspace.com/crashmydeville

www.myspace.com/crashmydeville

1. What are your names and roles in the band?

Band-
Hi, my name is Daniel and I am the singer in Crash My DeVille.

2. How has the response to the new album been? Is it safe to say that
it's a little different than the previous one?

Band-
Yes, it is. The last album was not an album in the way that the actual one is. “The Consequence Of Setting Yourself On Fire” is kind of an discography, with songs from the very beginning of our band. The actual album is the first “real” album for us.

3. The cover art for the CD is interesting, how did that come about?

Band-
We just wanted to come up with an artwork that just does not fit the music the album contains. We did not want any skulls in it, no bleeding hearts, no whatever. It fits the album title and the concept of the album very well I think.

4. Where's your favorite place to play? Whys that?

Band-
Tough one. I don´t really have a favorite place to play. We like to play everywhere, as long as there are nice people who are interested in what we do or open minded enough to get into our music.

5. The name of the band is very unique, does it mean something in particular?

Band-
I would really like to come up with an interesting story about it, but to be honest: It means nothing at all! ;0)

6. Any good show stories?

Band-
Haha, besides from the injuries, cut eyebrows, venues that burned down a day before we got to play there, running out of gas at night in foreign countries....nothing special I guess.

7. How did you guys hook up with Redfield Records?

Band-
Kai, the head of Redfield, used to play in a band and we supported them back in 2003. He seemed to like us that day, so we got in talks for about 2 years, figuring things out and getting to know each other. It kinda developed over the years.

8. How does the song writing process come about?

Band-
Our writing is mostly done by our guitarist Markus, who is writing most of the music. I am writing all the lyrics. With this album, we came up with the idea of writing an concept-album, so our work was pretty focused.

9. What are you currently listening to?

Band-
Right now, I am listening to the new Radiohead record, the awesome new Parkway Drive album and some old ones like Unbroken and In My Eyes.

10. What's next for Crash My Deville?

Band-
We just released the new album, so playing the new stuff live is most important to us right now.

11. Any shoutouts?

Band-
Thanks for checking us out and showing interest in our work and what we do, it means a lot to us! THANK YOU!

The Maple Room
(Funtime Records)

Interviewed on: 11/11/07
From: Tessenderlo, Meerhout
www.myspace.com/themapleroom

www.myspace.com/themapleroom

1. What are your names and roles in the band?

Band-
Jef: vocals
Dries: screams/bass
Niels: drums
Kristof: guitar
Tom: guitar

2. How did the name "The Maple Room" come about?

Band-
Kristof woke up one night and The Maple Room popped up in his head. So he got up and wrote it down and a few years later our band The Maple Room got its name. Some people look for a reason why we’ve chosen that name but it just sounded good to us, it didn’t mean anything at that moment, neither does it now.

3. How did you hook up with Funtime Records?

Band-
We already knew each other back in the days when we were playing about in our previous bands. Johan, the boss of Funtime Records also plays in 2 bands so we did see each other every few weeks when our bands played together. When we played our first show with The Maple Room, Funtime was really impressed by us. So you can maybe say we’ve sealed the deal that day.

4. I saw you played with a lot of national acts, from Funeral For A
Friend to Bullet For My Valentine, was there a show in particular that
sticks out as just being a fantastic show?

Band-
It think it’s different for everyone in the band. But my coolest memory of doing a support shows has to be the two shows we did with Alexisonfire in 2005. The first show was in Paris on a boat. We played on the Seine and it has to be one of the coolest places to play in Paris. At night when it’s dark you can see all the boats with their lights passing by. It’s just cool to be chilling on the upper deck and watch at that amazing sight. The day after we played in Belgium with them. It was one of their coolest shows on that tour they said. Those were some cool two days to be part of a band.

5. You guys shot a video for "A Glimpse Of The Inside", how did that go?

Band-
We hooked up again with the guys from Crooked House Productions. They did the video for ‘Emily Can Be’ of the previous album. So we knew them and they knew how we like to work and shoot so it was an easy choice to work with them again on our latest video. We shot it all in 1 day and 1 night, the result has just finished a month ago, we are now working on airplay in Belgium and UK.

6. How's the reaction been to the new album?

Band-
It started out a bit slowly ‘cause the album sounds different then the first one. It’s more produced and the songs have been more perfected in the way we like it. So it was an adjustment to people but lately it’s starting to get really nice. We’re getting a lot of cool responses and people dance and sing along so it’s a good feeling.

7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Band-
That’s a hard one. ‘Love Suicide’ is definitely a song I like playing for a crowd ‘cause it has those really catchy tunes in it. But my favorite is hard to tell. You end up playing all songs with a good feeling once it finds its way in your setlist I think.

8. With two lead singers, does that expand your sound more so than
just having one?

Band-
For sure, it gives you the opportunity to do something more than just being heavy or being a poppy band. And that’s what we like to do. You keep on searching for that right combination, so that’s what we’re still trying to define when we’re writing new songs.

9. What are you currently listening to?

Band-
It Dies Today - The Caitiff Choir
HIM – Venus Doom !!
Minus the bear – planet of ice

10. What's next for The Maple Room?

Band-
We’re leaving on tour at the end of November with Across Five Aprils(Victory Records) and we’re doing a short UK-tour at the end of December. Our main goal now is to find a label that can offer us some more opportunities and a wider distribution for our records. We want to have a new record out by the beginning of 2009. So we still have a lot of work on writing our new material.

11. Any shoutouts?

Band-
Check us out on http://www.myspace.com/themapleroom and try to give us a chance while you listen to it.

Thank you

The Sorrow
(Drakkar Records)

Interviewed on: 11/10/07
From: Vbg, Austria
www.myspace.com/thesorrowmetal

www.myspace.com/thesorrowmetal

1. What are your names and roles in the band?

Band-
Mätze is the singer and guitar player of our band, beside that he´s responsible for the elimination of our beer resources. Andi plays the lead guitar and writes the lyrics together with bass player Tobi. Our drummer Dominik is also very skilled in technical questions.

2. You recently shot a video for "Knights Of Doom", how did that go?

Band-
A friend of ours, who is currently studying film arts, made it with us. We shot the whole thing in two nights in a very cool club in our city. It was very exhausting and breathtaking, but the result is more than satisfying to us and hopefully for the people who enjoy our music as well.

3. You guys just announced a tour with Caliban and Heaven Shall Burn
over Xmas week, you guys excited?

Band-
No, not already, but that´ll come soon. We are really looking forward to be on the road again. The first tour we did was this autumn with devildriver and god forbid across continental europe and we enjoyed that time like hell. So let´s hope it´s going to be fun again.

4. Does it ever bother you with being compared to Killswitch Engage?

Band-
It´s not bothering us at all. People should not forget that we released our first album a few months ago, so it´s obvious that you can hear the direct influences on our sound. But be prepared for the next one, we already started writing on it and if it goes on like that, it´ll hit you like a motherfucker!

5. How was working with Toni Meloni (Caliban, Estate) on the album?

Band-
Toni is a friend of ours since a few years, so the working progress was very relaxed on one side. But we had to work under time pressure, which wasn´t to pleasing. Toni is a great guy and we can always relate on his help or advices. Thx dude!!!

6. Is there any Australian bands that people should check out?

Band-
There are plenty of Australian bands you should check out like Parkway Drive, Wolfmother or AC/DC. But I guess you meant Austrian bands;-) sure, check out In Slumber, a great death metal band from Linz or Before The Fall From Vienna, they are kicking it brutal! There are not too many bands that are worth mentioning, but give the scene a few years and you will hear more about it!

7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Band-
I can´t tell you really why, but we all love to play “The Dagger Thrust”, it´s old school swedish death metal riffing, new school breakdowns and a really cool melodic chorus. The people seem to dig it as well…

8. Any thought of coming over here to the US to tour?

Band-
No, unfortunately not already. Our label is still looking for a distribution company, so as long as our records won´t be sold in the states, the chance is very little to come over;-(

9. What are you currently listening to?

Band-
We all love Devildriver at the moment, The Last Kind Words record is the shit! As well as Mercenary, Tool or classics like Pantera, Priest, Machine Head or Faith No more.

10. What's next for The Sorrow?

Band-
After Christmas the tour with Caliban ad Heaven Shall Burn is taking place. In early 2008 we will fly to Helsinki, Finland, and a lot of festivals for next summer are already confirmed. It´s going to be off the chain like P. Diddy would say;-)

11. Any shoutouts?

Band-
Listen to The Sorrow, biatches! We are the youth gone wild!!!

1. What are your names and roles in the band?

Band-
Turner – vocals
Suspect – guitar/backing vocals
Gunner – guitar
Kesava – bass
Ben aka The Rig – percussion
Misztal – triangle/management

2. How did the band come about?

Band-
Me(Suspect) and Rig started jamming in yr 9 (2002) when we realized both of us played instruments,
It just kept growing from there. Gunner was a family friend of mine actually like a brother, he had started playing guitar around the same time as me and we had a couple jams with him he wasn’t too keen at first but then once turner jumped on board things took shape and everything started have more meaning.

3. The cover art for the CD is interesting, how did that come about?

Band-
The cover really in no way reflects the EP or who we are, it was simply rushed we just needed
Something so we could get the CD pressed asap. It has no religious meaning to us, some of us are even atheist.
But we were after something classy and not to gore/death themed as most bands are doing, so it worked out well

4. Where is your favorite place to play? Why?

Band-
Wollongong Youth Centre, just for the fact that everyone from everywhere comes out, it’s a free show and always has the best vibe/atmosphere. They shut the venue down because of shootings and we are yet to hear about it re opening.

5. The name of the band is very unique, does it mean something in particular?

Band-
To stick together; be united; hold fast, as parts of the same mass

6. Can we expect any new material soon?

Band-
Kohere is booking the studio for mid January and I think its safe to say you will be hearing some new tracks very soon.

7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Band-
Any of our new songs, we’ve grown apart from our EP I think "Big Dog" and "Vendetta" are the only 2 tracks that are similar to what we are writing and reflect what we are trying to.

8. I saw you are hooked up with EDGILLUSTRATIONS, how did you hook up with them?

Band-
Edgil is a good mate of mine and an awesome designer, he’s only 17. check out his work!

9. What are you currently listening to?

Band-
Emmure – Goodbye To The Gallows, August Burns Red – Messengers, Misery Signals.

10. What's next for Kohere?

Band-
Hopefully a national tour! In 08 after recording our new material.

1. What are your names and roles in the group?

Group-
Suffa - MC/Producer
Pressure - MC
DJ Debris - DJ/Producer

2. You've had major success in Australia, do you think there's a difference in the hip hop culture here in the US that would take to your music?

Group-
There's definitely a difference between the two cultures. Hip Hop in Australia is very young and doesn't really have a commercial aspect. Hip Hop here is probably more attuned to the four elements as well, although sadly it's gradually drifting away from them.

3. The deigns for the albums you guys put out is always awesome, who designs it?

Group-
John Engelhardt, a friend that we went to school with. He's an awesome artist, all of his works so dark, that really appeals to us.

4. You've been on a ton of festivals, is there one that sticks out the most as being just great?

Group-
We always love playing 'Splendour in the Grass'. It's a festival in Byron Bay (NSW), one of the most beautiful spots on the east coast. There's always a really good vibe there, it's intangible, it's just a great feeling.

5. You guys toured the UK with a string quartet, how did that go?

Group-
Really well, there's a lot of ex-pats in London so we always get a really good turn out over there. There was a lot more local crew this time though, which was good to see.

6. On the end of "Hard Road Restrung" is the song "Roll On Up", can we expect anymore new material soon?

Group-
We're working on a new album at the moment. it should be out late 2008.

7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Group-
Probably 'The Hard Road'. just cos the crowd usually familiar with it and get into it the most. Apart from that I really like playing new material and seeing the reaction.

8. I saw you are hooked up with Obese Records, how did that come about?

Group-
It's basically a friendship that turned into a business relationship, Pegz is one of our mates.

9. You guys formed the Hilltop Hoods Initiative, how did that come about?

Group-
About 8 years ago we were given a grant by our state government to market and distribute our first LP. About three years ago we were reflecting on how much that helped us. From there we started to think how we could help young upcoming artists in the same way so we decided to set up the grant. It's been running for three years now, it's been really positive.

10. What are you currently listening to?

Group-
Hell Razah

11. What's next for Hilltop Hoods?

Group-
We've got a DVD coming out in December, a remix shoe coming out with DC in February and a new album dropping late next year. On top of all that we're doing the Summer festival circuit here so we're going to be crazy busy.

12. Any shoutouts?

Group-
Shoutouts to the Funkoars, Flak and Vents!

1. What are your names and roles in the band?

Band-
James Kellegher- Guitars And Lead Vocals
Callie Harrison - Piano/Guitar

Band-
Callie and I (James) met through our old bands playing together at the garage in london, decided to start up a new project and things went from there!

3. Where is your favorite place to play? Why?

Band-
One of our favorite places is the Crown Inn in Kent, its small, but the people there are nuts!
Other places include, Islington Academy, and Underworld in Camden

4. Have you ever played out of the country? If so, where and how was it?

Band-
Not technically out of the U.K, but we ventured up to Sunny Ol' Scotland, was sweet. Nice venue. Fair amount of people. new people to impress.
But we Broke down on the way home which wasn't fetch at all!

5. How does the song writing process come about?

Band-
Either myself or Callie come to a practice with an idea, we lay down that idea and play it through changing things that don't work, or adding things we think will sound great etc etc. and then when we hit the studio with it, it will always change slightly.

6. Hows the new material coming along? Have you been playing it live?

Band-
New material is coming along amazingly, we're writing for our first full length for next year. its definatly matured a lot, the songs are a lot more advanced in structure and sound.

Havent started playing them live yet. but they will be coming out one by one very soon!

7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Band-
My personal favorite at the moment is "We're All Shipwrecked" at the moment, but some of the new tracks I can tell are gonna be amazing to play.

Band-
Personally I'd love to hit the road with Brand New, Underoath, and Manchester Orchestra.

9. What are you currently listening to?

and generally to any one who's into our music, comes to the shows and makes our lives worth living!

Parachutes
(Redfield Records)

Interviewed on: 11/6/07
From: Saarland, Germany
www.myspace.com/parachutesnk

www.myspace.com/parachutesnk

1. What are your names and roles in the band?

Band-
We are Stefan/vox, Chris/git, Carsten/git and vocals, Elmar/Bass and vocals, Markus/Drums

2. How did the band come about?

Band-
Markus and I met during our school time and we decided to start a band after a few crazy and funny sessions (we just started to play our instruments and that was how it sounded)…maybe you can’t even call it "playing" we just tortured them ?! Shortly after we met Chris in a guitar shop and asked him to join us, he decided to jump in and brought Stefan with him. The last one who joined Parachutes was Elmar a while later after our old bassplayer quit the band. And that stayed the line-up since then.

3. How did you hook up with Lockjaw Records?

Band-
We played some shows with a great band called Tribute To Nothing from the UK their drummer Ben was a A&R for Lockjaw during that time. On that night in may 05 we played with Orlando's own Hand To Hand and the above mentioned Tribute To Nothing. After the show Ben just asked us if we want to put out a record and if we are interested in doing it on Lockjaw. We were absolutely stoked because we were just thinking about playing and touring and for us a record was far away. So we sat down and decided to take the offer and do a record. Everything turned out really cool the guys at LJ are

So cool and work really hard for their bands. Our first full length called “And I Won’t Stop Until You’ve Lost Everything You Ever Loved…” was released in February 06 and we had a lot of really cool reactions from the people on our shows and the press. Although we are now searching for a new label at the moment ways parted in friendship. We owe the guys at LJ a lot and simply love them !

4. I saw you have Taste Of Chaos coming up, you guys excited to play a big show like that?

Band-
Yeeeeeehaaaaaaa The Used, Rise Against, Aiden, Gallows and The Blackout and we will be on stage too ?! This is awesome ! It is our second time playing TOC, we played the Munich-show last year after winning the Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands and played there with Taking back Sunday, Underoath, Anti-Flag, Saosin and Senses Fail. It is so cool to meet all these people watch them on stage and be on the same stage. This year will be awesome too not only that we can’t wait to meet our friends in Aiden again no in addition we will share the stage with all these great bands. It is a huge thing for us !

5. You played with a ton of international acts, is there a show in particular that sticks out as being just a great show?

Band-
Tough one… there were so many really cool bands we've played with and we met so many really cool people but all shows with Aiden and Silverstein were really really cool cause all of these guys are such cool people hanging out with. And then there was a sold out show with Boysetsfire (huge influence of us) in our hometown which is standing out because it was the first show in front of 1500 people we were sooooo scared. We learned so many things from all these bands and are glad that all of the people in these bands were friendly and nice and not that dickheadish-rockstar-like

6. Hows the new material coming along? Have you been playing it live?

Band-
Good question. It is a bit heavier but again with all these different directions like Hardcore, Punkrock, Metal and even some pop-parts. We really sat down and put more melodies in our songs but also enough parts to put your fists in the air and shout your ass off. Influences changed over the last two years and we really wanted to improve our songwriting. We currently only play three of the new songs in our live-set to give the people a glue of the direction of the new record. And crowd reacted amazing to the new songs so we’ll hope that the rest of the record will draw the same reaction.

7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Band-
I guess everyone in the band has it’s favorite song to play but we simply love to play live and it does not count which songs we like, it just counts how much the people like the songs.

As long as we could play live and the people went home from the shows and had a kick ass time we will play everything even a David Hasselhoff song (he really believes he reunited Germany...) if it is requested.

8. Troy Glessner (Underoath, He Is Legend) is mastering your upcoming album, how did you hook up with him?

Band-
We always were really into Troys work he made such great mastering for such great records and bands. We just contacted him and asked him if he is able to listen to our music and give us a feedback. He liked it and we just started working together. A few days ago the record came back from the US and the sound is awesome. Troy is a genius ! To make our crappy stuff sound so good is not easy ;)

9. What are you currently listening to?

Band-
We have so many different influences in the band but at the moment we are totally addicted to the new Every Time I Die record. The new The Bled record is great and also the new The Black Dahlia Murder-album. On tour we are always listening to very strange self-made compilations where easily Killswitch Engage mashes up with some really weird German dance music.

A while ago Thursdays Full Collapse found it’s way back into my CD-player one of my all-time-favs and influences along with stuff like The Get Up Kids, At The Drive-In, Grade, Guns n Roses, Maiden and Slayer.

10. What's next for Parachutes?

Band-
Currently we are searching for a new record label and just began talking to some of them…we’ll see what the future brings. Hopefully touring in the US and all over the world !

11. Any shoutouts?

Band-
FREE SHIRTS FOR BOOBIES !!!

Thanks a lot for reading this, go and spread the name if you like our stuff ! hope to see all of you guys someday !

Interviewed on: 11/5/07
From: Lisbon, Portugal
www.myspace.com/beforethetorn

www.myspace.com/beforethetorn

1. What are your names and roles in the band?

Band-
Well, our roles are much more than these ones but basically we are:

Guilherme Henriques - Vocals
Bernardo Gavino - Drums
João Cruz - Guitar Solo
Bruno Matos - Bass
Nuno Marques - Lead Guitar

2. From Portugal, how is the music scene over there?

Band-
Well we've been watching it grow more and more, with bands like TwentyInchBurial, Men Eater, Blacksunrise, For The Glory etc...going outside the country, but still, only a very small part of our population actually buys the cd's and really support the underground scene...having a metal/hardcore band is still a hobby, and so, impossible to make it a full-time job...for now.

3. Where is your favorite place to play? Why?

Band-
Well as long as it has the proper conditions to play, and kids singing along, our favorite place will be there, right next to you! The fans make the shows great or not so great, not really the place itself...

4. Have you ever played out of the country? If so, where and how was it?

Band-
Well, we haven't had that chance yet, but pretty soon we hope to go around Europe and tour with everyone...I’m sure it would be pretty awesome.

5. The song "Bleeding For Better Days" seems to have very personal lyrics. How did that song come about?

Band-
Well I wrote the lyrics thinking in all those fucked up moments, of our lives, where only the hope of better days coming will save you from the black hole where lots of people fall into...it also talks about rejuvenation and rebirth...

6. How’s the full length coming? When can we expect it?

Band-
It’s coming great we are very excited with the new album, well I think everyone can see by themselves when you hear the new song on our myspace, the new album will be much more heavy, more technical, and still very melodic...its normal that people might not relate to the sound at first, because now we have new members so it’s normal that the songs sound different from the EP.

7. What's your favorite song to play live and why?

Band-
Well, it’s been awesome to play our new material, fresh new songs are always very cool to show to the kids, with all this crazy new stuff we’re making, but the old songs with the fans singing along...nothing can compare to that.

8. If you could tour with any three acts, who would they be?

Band-
Well we all have very different favorite bands and influences, but personally I would say, In Flames, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive.

9. What are you currently listening to?

Band-
Well I’ve been listening to a whole bunch of new albums that got out recently...Himsa, Parkway Drive, Agonyscene, Dead Reprise, Maroon, Comeback Kid, The Chariot…I could stay here forever...

10. What does the future hold for Before The Torn?

Band-
Well, right now we just finished recording a 3 song demo pre-production from the album, that we will send worldwide to dozens of labels and press, and see if some record gets interested in us, and see if we can get some more attention from the press...
